About Kent
Kent is a Montana-based licensed architect with 20 years of experience in design, construction drawings, construction management, and construction. In 2001, he received his Bachelors of Architecture from Montana State University, and earned his Architecture License in 2009.
He currently works as a project manager for Dunn and Dalton Architecture, a North Carolina-based commercial firm recognized for its award-winning work across the South Atlantic. He has conducted work across commercial, academic, aerospace, and sacral sectors.
Previous experience includes work in the Denver market managing retail roll-out for major national retail clients, as well as military, government, light commercial, education, and residential contracts.
He has also supervised projects for East Carolina University, multiple regional medical centers, Starbucks, RiteAid Pharmacy, Jetstream Aviation, the US Marine Corps Base Camp LeJeune, the US Postal Service, University of North Carolina-Wilmington, Coastal Carolina Community College, Anytime Fitness Gym, and Dunkin Donuts, as well as residential and other light commercial contracts.
Prior to his commercial work in North Carolina and Colorado, Kent focused almost exclusively on residential design and construction. Highlights of his work have been published in Sunset, Architectures à Vivre, and Mountain Living magazines. This diverse background has created a unique skill set: he is equally comfortable on a large commercial construction site, remodeling military projects, or designing luxury residences. Over the course of his career, Kent has become familiar working with a number of programs, including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, TriForma, Google SketchUp, Photoshop, and Adobe Lightroom.
Outside the office, Kent is an avid photographer, world traveler, and scuba diver. No matter where he is, he values interesting design, cohesive urban fabrics, and sustainable lifestyles. When not creating architecture, you’ll find him remodeling historic houses, designing with his CNC and 3-D printer, and doting on his wife and 2 year old daughter.
